We collect information in the following categories:

• Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and sign-in provider details.
• Profile information: date of birth, sex/gender, height, current weight, goal weight, and profile avatar.
• Health and body data: weight history, body measurements (waist, hips, arms, chest), and selected female health data such as menstrual cycle details and menopause status where provided.
• Nutrition and food data: food logs, brand/quantity entries, barcode scan results, calories, macros, fiber, sugar, sodium, meal type, and meal history.
• Lifestyle and goals data: primary goal, target pace/timeline, activity level, training frequency, dietary style, allergies, intolerances, disliked foods, weekly schedule patterns, cooking preferences, budget, and planning style.
• Check-in data: mood, energy, hunger score, and evening check-in responses.
• Device and usage data: app version, device type, operating system, language, IP address, push preferences, and Expo/FCM push tokens.
• Local-only data: selected streak and milestone data may be stored locally on your device and not synced to servers.
• Support data: messages and attachments you share with support.

Depending on your settings, we may receive information from integrations and providers such as:

• Apple HealthKit (iOS) and Health Connect (Android): read-only step and activity data when permission is granted.
• USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, and FatSecret: food and barcode reference metadata.
• Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In: name and email during account creation or sign-in flows.

We only access third-party data needed to provide the feature you enabled, and you can revoke integrations from your device or account settings where supported.

If you use features such as AI Vision food logging or voice meal logging, the content you submit (for example, photos, spoken meal descriptions, and related metadata) may be processed by Eatgoal and approved service providers to deliver those features.

Food photos used with AI Vision may be sent to Anthropic Claude API in base64 format for analysis. EatGoal stores the parsed nutrition result, not the raw photo used for analysis.

Voice meal logs are transcribed on-device and only the resulting text is sent for parsing. Raw voice audio is not stored by EatGoal for this feature.

Meal plan generation uses profile parameters such as age range, goal, and dietary preferences. Submitted content is not used by EatGoal for advertising profiling.

We use information for the following purposes:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
• Calculate nutrition summaries, trends, recommendations, and wellness insights.
• Power search, scan, vision, and voice logging capabilities.
• Synchronize data across devices and accounts.
• Respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
• Detect fraud, abuse, and technical issues; secure the platform.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

If you are in the EEA or UK, we process personal data under one or more of these legal bases:

• Performance of a contract: to provide the Services you request.
• Legitimate interests: to improve security, reliability, and product quality.
• Consent: where required, including certain integrations or optional processing.
• Legal obligation: where required by law.

We may share information in the following situations:

• Service providers that host infrastructure, analytics, authentication, and support systems.

We do not sell your personal information for money and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting support@eatgoal.app. We target completion of verified deletion requests within 48 hours, including linked application records.

Some limited records may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, backup recovery cycles, and audit trails.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Request a copy of your data in portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as contractual protections and equivalent legal mechanisms.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS.
• Authentication tokens are stored in encrypted device storage (Expo Secure Store).
• Row-Level Security is enforced on core user data tables.
• Multi-factor authentication (TOTP) is available.

Depending on platform and feature usage, EatGoal may request:

• iOS: Camera, Photo Library, Microphone, Speech Recognition, Motion and Fitness (steps).
• Android: Camera, Media Images, Record Audio, Activity Recognition, Health Connect (steps), Network State.

The Services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us at support@eatgoal.app so we can investigate and remove the data where appropriate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where required by law.
